Frequently asked questions about FishingSpree.

How do I create a tournament?

Sign up for an organizer account, then click "New Tournament" from your dashboard. You can configure species, scoring rules, entry fees, registration limits, and more. Your tournament can be live in under 10 minutes.

How much does FishingSpree cost?

There are no monthly fees or subscriptions. FishingSpree charges $5.00 USD per registered angler per tournament, collected at checkout. Stripe payment processing fees (2.9% + $0.30 per transaction) are separate.

How do anglers submit catches?

Anglers log in on any phone browser — no app download required. From the tournament catch page, they select a species, upload a photo, and optionally capture GPS coordinates. Submissions go to tournament staff for review before appearing on the leaderboard.

How are prizes paid out?

Prizes are distributed via Stripe Connect directly to winner bank accounts. Recipients must complete W-9 verification before receiving funds. Payouts are initiated by the tournament organizer after results are finalized.

Can I require a waiver?

Yes. You can attach a digital waiver to your tournament that anglers must sign during registration. All signed waivers are stored and exportable. You can also include an optional photo release.

Is there a mobile app?

FishingSpree is a progressive web app — it works in any mobile browser without requiring an App Store download. Anglers can add it to their home screen for app-like access.
